In 2024 Chetes went on tour to promote his “Polvo De Estrellas” LP, performing a series of concerts to celebrate the new songs and share with his fans. He wanted animated loops to use as backdrops that he could project on stage behind the band. I created a series of 7 seamless loops (ranging from about 30 seconds to about 1 minute). I wanted to ensure that the videos would be interesting to watch, but not so kinetic so that they distracted from the band’s performance. I used slow motion and long fading edits to create a dream-like quality to the animations.
I also wanted to make something new for these concerts that reflected the art from his record and videos, but was not just re-clipping of existing videos. Two of the video loops are animations based on his album art. The other five loops use imagery from his music videos but used in new ways. For example, the spaceman from “Polvo De Estrellas” is running through the desert of “Por Un Amor”. The spaceman is flying through the countryside of “Cerca De Ti”.
